A Diverse Community
Annual Christmas Tree Display
It has been eight years since the very 1st Annual Christmas Tree Display, surprised and delighted visitors at the then Performing Arts Center on Main Street. And we are equally grateful to all 8 Brave Building Owners/Managers for trusting a “Merry Band of Elves” to come into their homes for business, at least once!
As we think back, let’s recognize and include them all for bringing the very same spirit we are enjoying this Season, with the use of one property, yes, but numerous Hosts, by way of our 2019 location at North Penn Commons. Here you will find great people and programs with shared missions and services, that speak to the very essence of what it means to give and be part of helping others, mind, body and spirit! And a poignant reminder that over time and space, we gather together again, with Common Grounds to Celebrate!
Welcome! To the 8th Annual Christmas Tree Display! The 8th Holiday Season that the Lansdale Mural Arts Program & Discover Lansdale, in partnership with participating area business and peer organizations, are pleased to present another terrific Christmas Tree Display for our town. A wholly Volunteer effort, this year showcases examples of area businesses stepping up to Sponsor our hard working and vital Non-profits in Lansdale, four of which are working all around you here, at North Penn Commons. Won’t you take a moment to learn more about them? There is so much you can do to help!
This special collection of Christmas Trees illustrates levity and whimsy, diversity and community, and the magic of the season that speaks to how it all comes together in a powerful and meaningful experience of the ever changing tapestry of our community.
This Program Book will help you navigate and identify just who is responsible for your tear or giggle or fond memory, and each tree in the display is numbered and referenced in this Program Book so that you can learn a bit about and connect with the makers and their special messages. As you view the trees, following along with this book, please take note not only of which causes and programs you recognize, but also the businesses that jumped at the chance to pay the Registration Fee and in some cases, chase down the actual Christmas Trees, to make participation for certain groups possible!
Big thanks to the Staff of all of the groups at North Penn Commons for bringing the fun from the outset this year, with suggestions and resources and smarts! There are so many valuable and talented people concentrating on the needs of this site and its people and a refreshing and ongoing vision and efforts in making Lansdale a more beautiful place to live, work and play!
Many thanks to our Visitors and Supporters – We can’t do it without you –
Happy Holidays and New Year!
Lansdale Mural Arts Program
By the end of 2019, the fifth original piece will be fully installed on one of the select building facades in Lansdale. For LMAP, Lansdale Mural Arts Program, the mission since 2013 has been to help make Lansdale beautiful, one huge canvas at a time. And no canvas yet is bigger or more visible in our town than the home of LMAP’s fifth piece at the American Legion. The building’s wide facade is not only viewed by those who live, work and enjoy daily life in downtown Lansdale, but also SEPTA’s steady stream of rail commuters and travelers along the R5 Lansdale/Doylestown line.
A piece has been presented and accepted by the American Legion Post 206 for installation Spring, 2020 and features a Soldier and aircraft against a dramatic sky. Post 206 has been a long time supporter of this important beautification initiative. If you have a chance, check out the Legion’s site at Main and Walnut Streets, Lansdale. LMAP and Discover Lansdale are glad that the work presented over the years has been so well received, and for another year, has bolstered the mission of beautification and a voice for The Arts in Lansdale.

A terrific chance to take advantage of this HUGE opportunity to roll up your sleeves, armed with pens, pencils and crayons, to create your own meaningful and powerful mural concept for our Friends, Families and Fighters in the US Military Services!
If you are made of the Right Stuff to be the Lead Artist on a piece in keeping with the Military Service theme and the “welcome” message we all want to extend to visitors to Lansdale, WE WANT YOU!
Created by Margie Booz, Chantilly Floral Boutique and Ellen W. Foulke, LBC, the Lansdale Mural Arts Program gives a voice to local artists.
Pets Are People Too
This event is held as a FUNdraiser for the Pet Pantry at Manna on Main Street, Lansdale, and for LMAP, The Lansdale Mural Arts Program.
Free to attend, with the hope that Guests make monetary donations and/or contribute pet food, or both, to these two important efforts to and for Lansdale.
Not only will there be good snacks and great company at this gathering, guests will also be pleased to learn about Manna’s successful and growing Common Grounds Café & Catering Program and can see, in action, its very own creations.
And speaking of creations – get a look at the final rendition of LMAP’s most recent installation at the VFW, Lansdale!
Should you have any questions just let us know, and remember to have plenty of business cards to share as we kick off the 6th Season of Beautification in Lansdale and the Summer of 2018~
Many of you may recognize the “slogan” Pets Are People Too! And we always want to remind that although any of their clients have pets and it seems that while so many give generously to Manna financially, and by donating food for people, it just does not occur to folks that if people are struggling, their pets are too!
Thank you – We look forward to hearing from you!
